About

Modern motherhood is rife with stereotypes, tropes, and narratives that have overcomplicated what was once biologically normal and intuitive.

Moms Off The Record explores how culture, systems, and modern lifestyles shape the decisions we make as women and mothers and what may have been lost in the process.

Inspired by ancestral wisdom while rooted in modern reality, this podcast is for those who want to think critically about the foundations we’re laying for ourselves and our children. Here, we ask the tough and often uncomfortable questions in pursuit of nuance, discernment, and most importantly, the truth.

Episodes air every Tuesday.

Katherine Sigblad

Hi there! For those of you who don’t know me yet, I’m Katherine a.k.a. Kat.

I’m a 35-year-old FTM (first time mom) to the sweetest baby boy. My Swede husband and I met on Tinder three years ago and didn’t waste any time settling down and starting a family— when you know, you know.

I had stints in NYC (where I was born), Austin, and Portland, and (for now) settled in Southwest Florida.

I dedicated eight years to a career in software sales across a variety of industries and made a thoughtful decision to resign from my corporate job to be a SAHM (stay at home mom) for the first year of our son’s life.

I have my mom to thank for my “crunchy” lifestyle and health foundation rooted in common sense. She taught me grass-fed butter is better than margarine and seed oils before it was cool.

After doing my due diligence and witnessing the significant improvements to my wellbeing once I became even more intentional about what we use, consume, and from whom we seek advice, I have become passionate about critical thinking and true informed consent.

I believe we should constantly be evolving and asking ourselves whether there may be a better way to do something. I also believe moms know themselves and their babies best; we may not be doctors or hae the alphabet soup after our names, but that doesn’t mean our intuition doesn’t count; in fact, it should come first.
