About

Moms Off the Record is a podcast and growing community. We are women and mothers who aim to empower other women and mothers to think critically, embrace biological norms and lead a more holistic lifestyle. We are moms, wives to very supportive husbands, best friends, and podcast co-hosts. If something is “standard” or “normal”, odds are we are not doing it, or at least questioning the genesis of it. As two curious women who have thoroughly researched countless subjects— often controversial ones— we feel confident in our approach and want other moms to feel that same sense of confidence when marching to the beat of their own drum during pregnancy, birth, postpartum and motherhood. No topics are off the table with Moms Off The Record.

Katherine Sigblad

Hi there! For those of you who don’t know me yet, I’m Katherine a.k.a. Kat.

I’m a 33-year-old FTM (first time mom) to the sweetest baby boy. My Swede husband and I met on Tinder three years ago and didn’t waste any time settling down and starting a family— when you know, you know.

I had stints in NYC (where I was born), Austin, and Portland, and (for now) settled in Southwest Florida.

I dedicated eight years to a career in software sales across a variety of industries and made a thoughtful decision to resign from my corporate job to be a SAHM (stay at home mom) for the first year of our son’s life.

I have my mom to thank for my “crunchy” lifestyle and health foundation rooted in common sense. She taught me grass-fed butter is better than margarine and seed oils before it was cool.

After doing my due diligence and witnessing the significant improvements to my wellbeing once I became even more intentional about what we use, consume, and from whom we seek advice, I have become passionate about critical thinking and true informed consent.

I believe we should constantly be evolving and asking ourselves whether there may be a better way to do something. I also believe moms know themselves and their babies best; we may not be doctors or hae the alphabet soup after our names, but that doesn’t mean our intuition doesn’t count; in fact, it should come first.
